What is OK City Star?
In 2007, the OK City Chorus began presenting the annual OK City Star Contest. The event gives singers a taste of what contestants on Nashville Star and American Idol experience. But unlike American Idol, our judges are extremely positive and supportive. The winning vocalist receives an impressive prize package which includes a cash prize, the composition of an original song along with a recording session at a professional studio. Past OK City Star contestants have appeared on television and radio, had print media feature articles and performed at the opening of the Oklahoma State Fair, for Thunder games and in other venues.
Become a Sponsor
OK City Chorus is proud to promote this event, but as a 501(3)c non-profit organization we are unable to foot this alone and extend the opportunity for private and corporate sponsorship. This allows us to offer education in addition to the incentive prize packages given these outstanding talented young adults. If interested in knowing more about sponsoring this event click here.
Any singer age 16-25 is eligible to register for this first round. (Note: Singers turning 16 during the current contest calendar year are eligible. Proof of age is required for registration.)
Interested qualifying participants may register online or by phone (405-720-SING). The registration fee is $25.00.
