WHO WE ARE
With a current membership of approximately 70, the OK City Chorus has been educating and entertaining audiences of all ages and all sizes since 1956. Our goal is to preserve and present the chord-ringing, fun-filled genre of Barbershop!
EDUCATION
| Community and Youth Education |
| A Cappella Rocks! – An educational program for middle and high school music classes to demonstrate the art of four-part a cappella singing in the Barbershop style. |

Young Women In Harmony – A full day workshop for young women ages 12-18, that includes music education with an evening performance.  |
|
Journeys In Harmony – A joint effort organized by the OK City Chorus, Girl Scouts of America and the Oklahoma City Orchestra League to offer girls an opportunity to earn a music patch. The workshop includes learning chord structures, experiencing and singing four-part harmony, and hands-on experience with many different musical instruments.

Coaches are brought in from all over the world to build individual skills that improve the overall chorus sound and performance.

The OK City Chorus encourages members to participate in all Heart of America Region 25 and Sweet Adelines International educational events including Summer Music Camp, Quartet Retreat, Leadership Retreat, International Competitions, and more.  |
ENTERTAINMENT
We love to perform! Any time! Anywhere! Some great venues for our performances have included:
- National Anthem at OKC area sporting events
- Caroling in Scissortail Park, Saturdays with Santa, Myriad Gardens, in downtown Edmond, Guthrie, Shawnee, Classen Curve and on the downtown OKC streetcars
- Entertainment for private parties, corporate and club meetings
- Downtown OKC Festival of the Arts
- State Fair of Oklahoma

COMPETITION
OK City Chorus participates in an annual regional competition which also qualifies us to compete at the international level. In addition to the actual competition, members get to meet old and new friends, share hugs, eat, laugh, and cry together in amazing cities across the nation and even internationally.
QUARTETS
All members have the opportunity to form quartets which sing at various functions and compete at the regional and international levels. The goal is the coveted international crown.
